Myth and Sculpture

The sculptures represent people and animals. Their images are derived from reality, but are reduced to their essence and modified in such a way that a new figure is created, with its own enlarged meaning. By doing this, the artist refers to a world behind the sculpture; a mysterious, subconscious universe that we might only see now that it takes shape before our eyes. It is a mythical world of legends and fairy tales. Welcome to the world of Nico Cornelis Klomp.
